2021 S3 online Motivational Talk which was organised by the English Language Centre was held on 27/11/2021 from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Around 40 Senior Three students and three teachers attended this auspicious occasion. The main objective of the programme was to inspire and motivate the Senior Three students to excel in their coming UEC examination. The emcees for the talk were Jacky Foo Kee Yap and Wilson Ang Wei Zheng from S3SC. Three distinguished Jit Sin graduates were invited to be the speakers for this Motivational Talk.
Graduated in 2019, Mr. Kung Zhen was the first speaker. He is currently studying medicine in Chang Gung University, Taiwan. Mr. Kung Zhen talked about Tips for preparing UEC. The second speaker was Ms Teoh Ee Lian. Graduated in 2019, Ms Teoh Ee Lian is currently studying in UCSI University KL, majoring in Hospitality Administration. She shared her interview experiences and interview tips. Graduated in 2020, Ms Zoe Kong, the third speaker, is currently studying law in University of Bristol. She talked about the exam scope of IELTS and shared the techniques of answering IELTS questions.
The event started off with the salutation by the emcees followed by the photography session. Next, it was an honour to have Ms Haw Sin Min, the head of the English Language Centre to give away the e-certificates to the speakers and Ms Wendy Teh Ven Ye, the assistant head of the English Language Centre to deliver a welcoming speech. The climax of the programme was the aspiring and informative Motivational Talk given by the three respected speakers. The intellectually curious participants had asked various questions in the Q & A session which displayed their enthusiasm in seeking information regarding tertiary education.
Overall, the event was a success in respect of students’ participation and response. We thank the awesome people who made this event happen. We wish to convey our sincere gratitude to the exceptional speakers, the committee members, teachers and students who have contributed their time, effort and dedication to make this programme a success.
